Did you know, there is a Welsh settlement in Patagonia which is still Welsh-speaking? It’s been there since 1865. The Ottawa Celtic Choir is pleased to be participating in an Homage to Patagonia, hosted by the Ottawa Welsh Society. We’ll be singing songs from a songbook written by the settlers. An interesting perspective on Celtic languages and culture in the diaspora!
Plus, there will be a lecture by Professor Paul Birt of the University of Ottawa about the Welsh Settlement in Patagonia, a tango demonstration, wine and empanadas!
