We’re really excited about our upcoming concert for the spring; once again we are performing as part of St. Luke’s Anglican Church concert series and we have a concert of songs on the theme of saints and scholars. There will be a mixture of Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Manx songs, reflecting both religious traditions and the work of folk and published poets. So St. Patrick will sit comfortably with Saint Columba and Saint Bridget, while Robbie Burns, W.B. Yeats and Dylan Thomas dialogue with the sorts of unknown poets whose songs form the bulk of the Celtic song repertoire. To top it all off the concert has some more recently composed songs that we love.
When: March 17, 2019
Where: St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 760 Somerset St. West.
Doors open at 7:00 pm, concert starts at 7:30 pm.
Tickets are by donation at the door. St. Luke’s is a wonderfully welcoming and warm place, well-served by buses. There’s a municipal parking lot right next door on Somerset. So there’s no excuse not to come!
(Well, maybe if you’re sore or nursing a massive hangover from the night before. I hear there’s a kickin’ ceili happening at Blessed Sacrament on March 16th).
