About us

The Ottawa Celtic Choir is a non-auditioned community choir in the city of Ottawa that sings songs from the seven Celtic nations, as well as from strongly Celtic-influenced areas (such as the Atlantic provinces, Quebec, Ontario, etc.). We sing in the six Celtic languages as well as English, French, and Galician-dialect Spanish.
The group is good fun and has a strong sense of community.  We encourage laughter in rehearsals, as the same muscles you use to laugh are the ones you use to sing!
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 715 pm to 9:15 pm, at St. John the Evangelist Church on the corner of Somerset and Elgin.  We rehearse in the chapel.

  1. I’m looking for a community choir to join. I spent seven years singing with Big Soul Project and now I’m looking for a change. Please let me know what your rehearsal schedule is for the spring/summer and/or if you have any upcoming concerts. Also, what are the fees to join. Thanks!

    1. Hiya Barb, we’re wrapping up our season as of June 18th (our last performance at Park Place Retirement Home), but we’ll be back on September 3rd. In the meantime, if you’re interested, you can come out to a rehearsal on Tuesday nights, 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm at St. John the Evangelist on the corner of Elgin and Somerset and just hang out with us for the evening. See if the choir is for you, and if it is, great! All the best, Ellen
